For more than 155 years, Geneva has met the need for a well-rounded
education that integrates academics with biblically based
values, teaching students to live out their faith in everything
they do. With its scenic campus, diverse undergraduate programs,
and accelerated degree completion and masters programs,
Geneva offers many opportunities for students to grow intellectually
and spiritually. So whether its science, theater, business,
athletics, education, engineering, or another field, a Geneva
degree means quality and character.
History and mission
Founded in 1848 in Northwood, Ohio, by the Reformed Presbyterian
Church of North America, Geneva was named in honor of the
Swiss center of the Reformed faith movement. In 1880, the
college moved to Beaver Falls and built a campus on land donated
by the Harmony Society.
Geneva has emerged as a leader in Christian higher education,
maintaining its heritage and fulfilling its mission to educate
and minister to a diverse community of students for the purpose
of developing servant-leaders and transforming society for
the kingdom of Christ. It is the colleges goal to help
students discover and use their gifts to the betterment of
their workplaces, communities, churches, families, and society.
Location and facilities
Located about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Genevas
picturesque 55-acre campus provides a warm and welcoming environment.
The colleges sizeabout 2,100 traditional, non-traditional,
and graduate studentsmeans that its students have access
to a wide range of educational resources while still receiving
individual attention. Geneva recently completed a $6 million
renovation of the Science & Engineering Building, refitting
the interior and upgrading technology. Several residence halls
and the cafeteria feature wireless Internet access. Over the
next several years, the college will work with the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation to relocate Pennsylvania Route
18, which currently bisects the campus.
Academics and activities
Geneva continues to lead the way in providing innovative and
values-added education both inside and outside of the classroom.
Geneva offers 35 undergraduate majors in fields ranging from
engineering, applied music, and broadcasting to accounting,
English, chemistry, and biblical studies. In recent years,
one of the colleges fastest-growing areas has been its
adult degree completion program. The DCP is conducted in 15
area locations including Beaver Falls, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown,
Ohio. The program is designed for working adults with some
college experience, and it offers majors in community ministry,
human resources, and organizational development. Geneva also
offers masters degree programs in business administration,
counseling, higher education, organizational leadership and
special education,
But academics are just a part of the Geneva College experience.
There are also plenty of student organizations and opportunities
for spiritual growth, including a student senate, Athletes
in Action, the campus newspaper, an FM radio station, a marching
band, a touring choir, and community service projects. In
addition, Geneva is proud of its many recreational programs,
as well as the nationally ranked Golden Tornado varsity teams
in football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball,
cross country, track and field, and tennis.
Faculty
Geneva College has an excellent group of committed faculty
members, which includes 83 full-time and 72 part-time teachers.
Of full-time instructors, 73 percent hold doctorates or the
highest degrees available in their fields. The colleges
faculty and staff demonstrate Christian living and obedience
in personal growth in the interactions of college life and
in dedication to Christian calling and service.

Association of Colleges and Schools since 1923 and maintains
